The new East Bentleigh Ambulance Station is nearly ready for opening.

Construction is set to begin shortly on Centre Road to install traffic signals that will be triggered when an ambulance is responding to emergencies, ensuring the safety of our paramedics.

Water and telecommunications infrastructure have been identified under Centre Road, which delayed the opening of the ambulance station. The engineering team has developed a solution to install the traffic lights while limiting the need for relocation of infrastructure.

A brief closure of Centre Road will take place during upcoming works, and residents will be notified in advance of any disruptions.

The traffic lights are expected to be installed by the middle of this year, enabling our hardworking paramedics to move into the new state of the art ambulance station and deliver critical care to the local community.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics tell me they look forward to moving into the facility, equipped with a four-bay garage, training facilities and rear storage for additional resources.
