The first sod has been turned at Cheltenham Secondary College to mark the start of construction of the new school building. 

The Allan Labor Government has provided a total of around $7.7 million for this new building, which will include an admin wing and classrooms. 

Importantly, the building will be located at the front of the site on Bernard Street, acting as a welcoming gateway to the school. 

Construction of the new building will be complete in time for next year's year seven students to move in.
