State Member for Bentleigh Nick Staikos is encouraging local residents to have their say on a proposed new bus route.

Releasing the proposal today, Mr Staikos said the aim of the new route is to connect the Frankston and Dandenong train lines and address service gaps along East Boundary Road, McKinnon Road and Tucker Road. It will also provide better connections to GESAC, Holmesglen TAFE, Holmesglen Hospital and will run between Chadstone Shopping Centre and Moorabbin Station.

The proposed new service is the latest in a list of improvements announced since the local bus forum last year, including the extension of the 703 to Middle Brighton on Sundays and the extension of the 823 to Bentleigh to service Classic Residences retirement village.

Mr Staikos will be hosting a public forum to discuss the proposal at 7pm, Wednesday 27 September 2017 at St John’s Anglican Church, 624 Centre Road Bentleigh (corner Tucker Road). Residents interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP to 9579 7222 or nick.staikos@parliament.vic.gov.au
