Builder appointed to upgrade Bentleigh Secondary College

Students at Bentleigh Secondary College are a step closer to having the facilities they deserve, with construction on a $13.4 million upgrade due to get underway shortly.

State Member for Bentleigh Nick Staikos has today announced that SJ Higgins Pty Ltd has been awarded the construction contract, with work to get underway in August.

The project includes new classrooms for science, maths and technology as well as two additional indoor courts for McKinnon Basketball Association.

The Andrews Labor Government is building the Education State so that every Victorian student gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school.

The project is part of a $2.5 billion investment by the Labor Government to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.

This school building boom has created more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5000 construction jobs to ensure all Victorian families have access to a great school no matter where they live.

Since coming to office nearly three years ago, the Labor Government has invested $45 million to upgrade ten schools in the Bentleigh electorate. To find out more, visit the Victorian School Building Authority website at
