Builder appointed for East Bentleigh Primary’s PAC

May Constructions has been appointed to build East Bentleigh Primary School’s new performing arts centre.

State Member for Bentleigh Nick Staikos announced the $5 million project last year.

Students at the school learn viola, violin and cello without a dedicated music room. This project will provide a 350 seat theatre, recording spaces and four classrooms.

Work is expected to get underway during the winter school holidays.

Under the Andrews Labor Government’s school building boom, a total of 100 new schools will open over the next eight years, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.

The Labor Government has invested $3.8 billion during its first term in delivering more than 1,300 school upgrades and supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians. The 2019 Budget invests a further $1.82 billion – the biggest school building budget in Victoria’s history.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a quality education.
