Budget delivers total rebuild of Bayside SDS

Students at Bayside Special Development School will benefit from a complete rebuild, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

The $11,400,000 investment, delivered as part of the Victorian Budget 2017/18, will go towards making sure local kids get the best start in life. The funding builds on planning money provided in the Victorian Budget 2016/17.

This year’s funding will be used to start construction on the full school rebuild.

This will include the demolition and replacement of existing facilities, the construction of new early education program facilities and the creation of the Jan Lake Professional Development Centre.

A total of $44.4 million in upgrades will be provided to six Victorian special schools in Tuesday’s budget.

The Labor Government is building and upgrading a record number of schools to make sure every child has every chance to succeed.
